CO₂ recovery engineering for biogas and dry ice
Solveno Technologies supports your CO₂ recovery project from the first feasibility assessment to system integration and implementation. We work with CO₂-rich off-gas from biogas upgrading and gas recovered during dry ice production.
Low electricity consumption is central to our system design. We assess your gas stream, required liquid CO₂ quality and operating profile to develop a suitable technical solution and evaluate its business case. Our engineering connects process requirements with equipment selection, site interfaces and the practical delivery of your installation.
Planning CO₂ recovery at your site?
CO₂ project engineering: from feasibility to operation
We define the engineering scope around your project stage. A first assessment can establish feasibility and investment assumptions before detailed design or equipment supply is commissioned.
Feasibility and business case: We review gas flow, composition, inlet conditions, operating hours and the intended CO₂ application. We assess electricity costs, usable liquid output and total installed investment. For biogas projects, the assessment includes potential CO₂ sales; for dry ice recovery, the liquid CO₂ purchases that can be replaced.
System selection and design: We select the configuration and develop the agreed engineering package. Depending on scope, this includes PFDs, P&IDs, piping, equipment layout and technical documentation. Energy consumption and recovery are assessed together under the specified operating conditions.
Site integration: For biogas upgrading, we coordinate the CO₂ off-gas interface and any proposed methane-containing return stream with the upgrading installation. For dry ice production, we assess gas collection and the return of recovered liquid CO₂. Utilities, storage, controls and installation responsibilities are defined with your team.
Construction, commissioning and handover: For projects including equipment supply, we support construction, quality control, installation and commissioning within the agreed scope. Acceptance criteria and handover documentation are defined before delivery.
Operational support and maintenance: Maintenance and support arrangements can be agreed for the supplied installation, taking account of its operating profile and site requirements.
Why choose Solveno Technologies?
Low electricity consumption
Energy efficiency is a central design priority. We assess electricity consumption per tonne of usable liquid CO₂ alongside recovery yield, product specification and your operating conditions.
Natural-refrigerant technology
Our recovery systems use R744, CO₂ itself, as a natural refrigerant. Cooling conditions and refrigeration requirements are considered as part of the complete installation.
A project-specific business case
We connect technical assumptions with electricity costs, annual output, CO₂ sales or avoided purchases, maintenance and site investment. This makes the main economic drivers visible before investment decisions.
Technical expertise for your CO₂ project
Connected engineering disciplines
Our engineering brings together process requirements, PFDs, P&IDs, piping, equipment layouts and technical documentation. Electrical design is coordinated with a specialist partner.
Modular equipment, defined interfaces
We combine our recovery equipment with project-specific integration. Connections to upstream production, utilities, storage and controls are defined with the parties responsible for each part of the site.
Engineering informed by installation development
Our own CO₂ recovery development connects design work with assembly, access, maintenance and operation. These practical considerations inform the engineering of your project.
Engineering around your gas stream and site
A standard recovery unit still needs project-specific integration. Gas composition, available space, cooling conditions, electrical supply and liquid CO₂ storage influence the final design and installed cost.
For CO₂ recovery from biogas upgrading, engineering focuses on the CO₂-rich stream after methane separation. For CO₂ recovery from dry ice production, it focuses on collecting and reliquefying production gas for reuse.

Start with your project data
Share the source of your CO₂, gas flow and composition, inlet pressure and temperature, annual operating hours, electricity price and intended liquid CO₂ use. Indicate whether you need a feasibility assessment, integration engineering or a project including equipment supply.
We use these inputs to identify the next engineering step and the information still required for a technical and economic assessment.
