Meet the team

Maarten Schuermans Co-founder	Co-founded Solveno Technologies after an extensive career in the industrial gases sector, with+10 years of experience in designing and operating dry ice and nitrous oxide plants. Holding a Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, he brings an end-to-end plant perspective, from process design and commissioning to daily operations. With a deep network in the industrial gases world, Maarten de-risks decisions on budgeting, supplier strategy, and funding, and keeps projects at Solveno Technologies grounded in what actually works on the plant floor.
Steven Schuermans Co-founder	Co-founded Solveno Technologies with the knowledge gained from working in the gas industry, bringing hands-on experience designing and running dry ice and nitrous oxide plants. Holding a Master's degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Steven is the engineer turned CEO who obsesses over energy use, reliability, and simple, maintainable setups. He turns complex gas handling into practical, field-tested solutions and is relentless about squeezing out waste and improving efficiency. Having worked internationally and in multiple industries, Steven brings valuable cross-cultural experience and a deep understanding of regional differences, specific market needs, and diverse ways of working. This global perspective reflects our international mindset and strengthens our ability to adapt our technologies and approach to clients around the world.
Yarne Maes Project Engineer	After completing a Master’s in Chemical Engineering Technology and a Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Yarne joined Solveno Technologies with a strong focus on structured problem-solving and real-world impact. He bridges technical detail and business value by translating complex requirements into clear plans, performing thorough analyses, and keeping projects aligned with customer goals and timelines. Having studied in both China and Belgium and developed a broad international network, Yarne brings a global mindset and a deep understanding of cultural and regional differences, a key strength in adapting solutions to diverse markets and clients.
