CO2 recovery at IJsfabriek Strombeek

Solveno Technologies, a pioneer in sustainable technologies and energy solutions, and IJsfabriek Strombeek, a leading producer of dry ice and industrial gases, proudly announce a successful collaboration. Together, they have launched an innovative installation for  CO2 recovery.

This installation, developed by Solveno Technologies, replaces an older system at IJsfabriek Strombeek. The new, compact container solution features proprietary patented technology and uses CO2 as a natural refrigerant, resulting in significant improvements in energy efficiency and a reduced ecological footprint.

By capturing and reusing the CO2 gas released during dry ice production, IJsfabriek Strombeek becomes less dependent on CO2 deliveries from its own recovery plants. Additionally, liquefying the captured CO2 gas on-site significantly reduces the number of transport movements and associated emissions.

A win-win for the environment and operations

Exceptionally energy-efficient

With its low electricity consumption per ton of recovered CO2, this unit outperforms comparable systems on the market. This results in lower operational costs for IJsfabriek Strombeek and a smaller ecological footprint. However, Solveno Technologies does not plan to stop here: "In the coming months, we will implement optimizations to further reduce the unit's energy consumption. This will allow us to offer our customers even more efficient and sustainable solutions."

Ease of use was a key focus in designing this installation. For both daily operators and maintenance technicians, the unit is intuitive to operate. Thanks to a clear interface and extensive automation, the installation can be efficiently monitored and operated, minimizing the chance of errors.
