By Simen Vertommen

Joining Solveno Technologies 1.5 years ago felt like embarking on an exciting new chapter in my career. With over 11 years of experience in automation, encompassing instrumentation, E&I works, and programming, I was eager to contribute my skills to a company that was pioneering innovative solutions in carbon capture.

I found a perfect fit at Solveno, where my previous experiences have been invaluable in understanding the complexities of industrial processes and identifying opportunities for improvement. During my first year and a half, I gained hands-on experience in various aspects of industrial installations, from witnessing the intricacies of welding processes to navigating the labyrinth of legal and administrative regulations. These practical insights have significantly enriched my engineering journey, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

What truly sets my experience at Solveno apart is the opportunity to be involved from the ground up. As one of the earliest members of the team, I participated in every stage of our inaugural CO2 recovery unit project: from initial conceptualization and engineering design to installation and commissioning.

Carbon capture technology is a rapidly evolving field with significant potential for reducing industrial emissions. My experience working on Solveno’s inaugural CO2 recovery unit has given me invaluable insights into the intricacies of this technology. Witnessing a project come to life has been immensely rewarding and has solidified my appreciation for the critical role automation plays in ensuring efficient and reliable operations.

Beyond the technical aspects, I have been inspired by the collaborative and dynamic environment at Solveno. The team is composed of highly skilled and motivated individuals, each contributing their unique expertise to tackle complex challenges with creativity and efficiency. This collaborative spirit fosters innovation and creates an environment where ideas thrive, enabling us to push boundaries and continuously improve. Working at Solveno has been a transformative experience, both professionally and personally, and it has reinforced my passion for contributing to cutting-edge advancements in industrial and environmental engineering.

Looking ahead, I am excited about the continued growth and development of Solveno Technologies. I am eager to contribute my skills and experience to future projects, pushing the boundaries of carbon capture technology and further solidifying our position as a leader in this critical field. I believe that by working together, we can make a significant impact on the global energy landscape and accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
